in Japan

Curry

English: A while ago I mentioned ramen is one of the two great comfort foods of Japan. The other one is the Japanese curry. This dish is part of youshoku, or western style dishes. As opposed to the Indian curries this dish is the Japanese interpretation of the British interpretation of the Indian curry from around the 1900’s . Of course, being in Sendai, this curry contains beef tongue. Another interesting detail is that in Japan any curry is eaten with fork and spoon, not chopsticks.
